What to Keep in a Self Care Box

A self care box is our emergency kit for whenever you feel down, overwhelmed or just need a little pick me up. I like to keep my box in the bedroom because that whole space is dedicate to peace and self care.

1. Journal

I love journaling because it helps me focus on self-care and just detach from the world. Then I am in control of what I want to do next. 2. Essential Oils

I love using this in my life, I use it for my hair and especially in a diffuser. I love these roll-ons because it makes it feel like I’m doing something for myself. These are the ones I use you can click to buy if you like.

3. Books

I love reading and I think I need to keep something light and simple in my self-care box. I like this one because it has short paragraphs so I can get through it really quickly and learn something in a few minutes.

4. Sheet Mask

I love having a sheet mask becuase sometimes I dont have the energy to mix up a clay mask and wait for that to dry. So this is perfect becuase I can just put it on and lay in bed. If youre up for it you can also use a roller at this point and just massage in all the essence from the mask into your skin

5. Art

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m just a little bit too obsessed with paint by numbers… It’s just so satisfying. This is my most recent one and you can check it out here.

6. Scrapbook

So I love having my scrapbook in my self-care box because it is one of those things that instantly makes me smile so I love looking at it al when I’m not feeling the best. It’s full of pictures and memories that just warm my heart so it’s great.

7. Moisturise

It’s always the simple things that make you feel better to take 5 minutes out of your day to moisturise your hands, elbows and give your cuticles some love too. I love using massage tools to make a mundane moisturising experience a spa-like one. I also think having a moisturiser in your self-care box is so simple but so effective too!

8. Tea

I like having fancy teas here I don’t just want a basic sachet of green tea I want something special. Like I’ve mentioned this should be full of things that you don’t usually include in your daily routine so you feel like you’re getting very special treatment.

9. Candles

So I usually light a tea candle every day before bed that would burn out in time but I have this hand made soy candles for my self-care box because it makes me feel extra special and luxurious. You can find soy candles here.

10. Affirmations and Quotes

I love having affirmations and quotes dotted all around my home. This makes me feel like I can absorb little bits of positivity throughout my day. However, I think it is really important to have specific, more focused affirmation or reminder in your self-care box. This way you can take control of how you want to feel again.

11. Meditation

I use headspace for my guided meditation and I love falling asleep to their sleep casts. I love adding temple balm because it isn’t part of my normal routine and it takes me into a deeper relaxed feeling.
