How to get out of a slump

Have you been feeling a little stuck recently? I made this video and I share my tips on how to get out of a slump. You can watch this video here or read the full post below.

1. Make your bed

I know this sounds so simple, but if a made up bed doesn’t give you that little boost of energy to start your day. I don’t know what will

2. Skincare

When I’m stuck in a slump I often neglect myself and sometimes don’t even have the energy to wash my face. So for me skincare is so important. I don’t need to do anything fancy but simply just washing and applying moisturisier is good enought for me when I feel like this.

3. Tea

I feel like drinking tea is like receiving a big hug. Which is always needed when I feel this way. I love this Yogi – Lemon Detox tea (check it out here)

They also come with beautiful quotes whcih help me feel uplifted and allow me to focus on myself.

Appreciate yourself and honour your soul

4. Brain Dump

We need to let everything out of our minds to make sure we don’t feel overwhelmed. So brain dumping is my favourite thing to do. I feel like I can lose so much motivation by thinking about how many things I have to do. So putting it on paper takes the burden off my mind. Then I can select a few things I want to work on during the day.

5. Yoga & Stretching

Yoga or simply taking ten minutes to stretch your body can be really rejuvenating. When I do yoga I try to make it a meditative practice and give thanks to my body. I imagine all the blood flowing through my body and feeling full of energy.

6. Get ready

Getting ready is just a way to trick your mind that you’re about to do something exciting and productive. Imagine yourself getting ready for date night or a fun trip with your friends and your mindset will follow

7. Sprinkle on some make up

And for the same reason above make up makes me feel like I’m a little extra ready. This is also great because it forces me to wash my face at night doing an extra bit

8. Tidy up and clear your space

Having a clean clear space can help you physically remove the things that make you feel overwhelmed out of your space

9. Candles and insence

10. Hydrate

I know it might sound simple, but hydrating yourself can be so rejuvenating. So it will help you gain that extra boost of energy too.

11. Paint or mindful activities

As I’ve mentioned in my post about self care and mental health; Painting and doing mindful activities can put your mind into a state of deep focus. No matter what we are thinking about we can still our minds by doing certain things.

12. Nourish your body

Nourish your body with all the esential minterals and vitamins it needs through food. I love having smoothies and adding superfoods is an amazing way to boost the goodness

13. Moisturise our body

It doesnt have to be moisturise only. But I like having little things dotted around my room and home so I have an oppurtunity to practice self care no matter where i am. For example I have essential oil roll ons in my room adn by the door so I always have them at hand.

14. Reading

Reading is another thing you can do if you’re feeling a little off as it requires no energy but can be very rewarding and really help shift your mindset, deoendng on what book youre reading..

You can see all of my favourite books to read here.

15. Relax

Remember to take it slow, sometimes we do need an off day where we don’t do a lot and just eating and drinking water can be enough. But you know yourself best so make sure you take your own time to learn what is best for you.

So these are my tups on how to get out of a slump, I hope you found it useful! If you ever feel like you need some extra support feel free to reach out!

Sending you lots of love + light
